North Port puts you in one of the best spots on the Gulf Coast for getting out and exploring. Venice is just south, Sarasota is up the road, and everything in between is worth your time. Here’s a little taste of what’s waiting for you.

Venice, FL
Venice is a small Gulf Coast town with a lot going on. Known as the Shark Tooth Capital of the World, the beaches here — Venice Beach, Caspersen Beach, and Brohard Beach — draw fossil hunters, swimmers, and sunset watchers in equal measure. The 700-foot Venice Fishing Pier is a local institution, and Historic Downtown Venice is full of independently owned shops, restaurants, and Mediterranean-style architecture that makes for a genuinely good afternoon. The Venetian Waterway Trail connects downtown to the beaches by bike, and Sharky’s Restaurant and Pier offers one of the best waterfront dining and sunset views in the area.

Sarasota, FL
Sarasota is the cultural anchor of the Gulf Coast and delivers on just about every front. Siesta Key Beach consistently earns top rankings for its powdery white quartz sand, and the waterfront at downtown Sarasota is legitimately beautiful. The Ringling Museum complex covers 66 acres on Sarasota Bay and includes the Museum of Art, a Circus Museum, the Ca’ d’Zan mansion, and bayfront gardens that take most of a day to properly explore. Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, St. Armands Circle, the Sarasota Opera House, and a food scene that keeps growing round out a city you won’t want to miss.

North Port, FL
North Port is your home base, and it has more going on than most people expect. Warm Mineral Springs is Florida’s only naturally occurring warm mineral spring, with 85-degree water and 51 minerals — equal parts geological curiosity and relaxation destination. Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park has 3.7 miles of trails through hardwood hammock and along the creek. CoolToday Park is the Atlanta Braves’ spring training home and hosts concerts and events year-round. And Myakka River State Park, right next door to the resort, keeps the outdoor calendar full all on its own.

Local Beaches
Southwest Florida is home to some of the Gulf Coast’s most beautiful beaches, all just a short drive from North Port. From the quiet shores of Manasota Key Beach and the family-friendly setting of Englewood Beach to the popular Venice Beach area, there’s something for everyone. Nearby, Brohard Paw Park welcomes dogs, while Caspersen Beach is perfect for shark tooth hunting. For a more vibrant beach day, Siesta Key Beach offers world-famous white sand and clear blue water.

Spring Training Parks
Baseball fans are in the perfect spot when staying in North Port, with two Major League teams holding spring training just minutes away. Catch the Atlanta Braves at CoolToday Park or watch the Tampa Bay Rays play at Charlotte Sports Park. These modern facilities offer comfortable seating, great concessions, and an up-close view of your favorite teams. Spring training games provide a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere, making them a must-do seasonal activity. Even outside of baseball season, both venues host events, concerts, and community gatherings throughout the year.

Warm Mineral Springs
Known as Florida’s only naturally occurring warm mineral spring, Warm Mineral Springs Park is a unique destination just minutes from the resort. Often called the “Fountain of Youth,” the spring maintains a constant temperature and is rich in minerals believed to have therapeutic benefits. Visitors come to relax, float, and enjoy a peaceful, wellness-focused experience unlike anywhere else in the region. It’s located just east of the property, making it a quick and easy trip. Tip: Wear an older bathing suit, as the minerals may discolor fabrics.
